    10 000 organisations worldwide with the aim of promoting sustainable development Edison has been involved in the Italian Global Compact network since 2009 In 2014 the Italian section focused on the sustainable management of the supply chain on sharing the approach to the principle of materiality on initiatives to reduce corruption on biodiversity and respect for human rights Edison took part in working parties on these matters and has integrated the 10 principles on human resources working party the environment and the fight against corruption In 2015 major focus of activities was on the analysis and structuring of the ways by which the new sustainable development goals can be incorporated IPIECA The International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association IPIECA is the global association established in 1974 with the aim of representing the oil and gas industry both upstream and downstream dealing with both social and environmental matters Edison togehther with EDF group is a member of the executive committee of IPIECA the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association established in 1974 with the aim of representing the oil and gas industry both upstream and downstream dealing with both social and environmental matters It acts as a forum for the discussion of and cooperation with regards to environmental issues between the oil and gas industry and international organisations At present IPIECA has active working parties established in which Edison participates in collaboration with EDF on various areas environment and safety human rights corporate responsibility and communication In 2014 the company reinforced its collaboration with IPIECA by participating in new working parties such as Climate Change COP 21 and Sustainable Development Goals CSR management network CSR Manager Network Italy is the national association of professionals devoted in any organisation company business foundation professional enterprise public administration non profit entities etc to the full time or part time management of social environmental and sustainability issues connected with the corporate business Edison has been a member of the CSR Manager Network since 2012 Sodalitas Founded in 1995 by Assolombarda to establish a bridge between company and society this is the first organisation to have introduced Business Sustainability into Italy It promotes corporate social responsibility in Italy also supporting managerial development of non profit entities and the growth of the younger generation 90 leading companies on the Italian market subscribe to it including Edison Under the scope of its participation in the work of Sodalitas Edison offered its support to the Sodalitas Challenge which rewarded the sustainable business ideas presented by under 35s with a university degree or secondary school diploma who were unemployed or with precarious employment characterised by the potential to create new employment The eight best ideas of the 179 submitted by the 279 young adults who took part became innovative start ups and were awarded a prize of 200 thousand euros in coaching and training Centro per la cultura d impresa business culture centre Founded by Milan Chamber of Commerce it promotes the optimisation of the historic assets of businesses and

    Listening to stakeholders Dialogue with stakeholders helps monitor matters of sustainability on which to launch specific analysis paths and develop action plans In 2014 and 2015 a multitude of activities were carried out to this end regarding different categories of stakeholders Of these we would recall Internal survey perception of sustainability and corporate responsibility by employees In 2014 the Edison Corporate Social Responsibility department conducted an internal survey to verify the degree of perception of matters of sustainability and corporate responsibility by employees The overall opinion given by 363 respondents was positive Corporate Social Responsibility is perceived positively not only in terms of improving the return on image or achieving a more effective management of the Group s reputation but above all as a tool for risk prevention and the creation of social and economic value In actual fact for Edison employees it is essential to initiate dialogue with the local communities affected rely on energy efficiency to fight climate change and adopt new rules for a relationship with clients that is increasingly correct and transparent Edison therefore obtains the consent of its employees on the choice to integrate principles of sustainability into the Code of Ethics and business strategy Corporate Social Responsibility and business are linked and create value for the business its employees and territories Round table social innovation digital practices of civil life and sustainable development 27 june 2015 Innovation week Edison Open4expo What exactly is social innovation What specific themes does it cover And above all does it have to be digital These questions are what sparked the works of the round table Social innovation digital practices of civil life and sustainable development coordinated by Ernesto Belisario under the scope of the Edison Innovation Week developed in collaboration with Wired The workshop involved experts from different areas public administration businesses civil society striving to reason together on the future of social innovation in Italy and formulate just a few but clear practical recommendations to be shared with all players intending to launch projects connected with social innovation Works started out by mapping virtuous cases from which to draw concrete replicable experiences in order to achieve an empirical definition of the phenomenon Discussion on the social innovation practices has allowed participants to identify some recommendations and proposals that were divided up into three major macro themes of intervention each representing a characteristic area of social innovation in Italy The culture of sustainability at school how to stimulate a synergic territorial action During the Innovation week organised by Edison as part of the Edison Open4Expo programme Edison has organised a morning dedicated to dialogue with various different contexts to debate how a civil society can contribute towards the spread of good sustainability practices starting from the school context Starting from the good practices implemented over the years by the schools of the Ecogeneration 2 0 School Friend of Climate project start ups businesses and associations compared notes with Edison employees and Legambiente educators already active under the scope
