    for Standardization in close collaboration with leading European accredited test laboratories including the laboratory of the ENEA Trisaia Research Centre and certification Authorities with the support of the European Commission ENEA in 2003 established at Trisaia Research Center the first accredited testing laboratory in Italy according to ISO and CEN standards supporting the relevant Italian industrial system The laboratory offers a service of qualification for components and systems useful to determine the thermal performance reliability and durability of commercial collectors or prototypes both flat and concentrating solar collectors Recently at the laboratory was set up a test circuit for concentrating solar collectors for residential and industrial applications at medium temperature with the purpose to determine the thermal performance of such collectors with a working temperature up to 300 C The main objective of Solar Keymark product certification is to foster the growth of the solar thermal sector using test procedures that ensure efficient products of good quality The introduction of the brand Solar Keymark has revolutionized the solar thermal industry by making available a certification of product that plays a crucial role in breaking down trade barriers and becoming of enormous importance for the growth of the sector As a matter of fact the Solar Keymark has been chosen by several European countries including Italy as a technical reference for the access to the incentives provided to the users of solar thermal products The Solar Keymark Network meets twice a year The first meeting of 2015 will be held in Rome on 10 12 March 2015 At the meeting in addition to members of the Network are invited to attend all producers and representatives of the industrial sector For information Dr Vinod Kumar Sharma Email sharma enea it Il Centro La storia La trisaia in cifre Dove siamo Visite al

    of solar thermal products The Solar Keymark is a voluntary third party certification mark for solar thermal products demonstrating to end users that a product conforms to the relevant European standards and fulfils additional requirements The Solar Keymark is used in Europe and increasingly recognized worldwide More information on Solar Keymark Network is available at www cen eu cen Certification Keymark www estif org solarkeymarknew Global Solar Certification Network for solar thermal products Certification in the solar thermal industry is common throughout the world Many certification schemes around the world are based on either the EN or ISO standard The research has shown that in many countries there are subsidy programs or legal requirements that set these rules through certification Therefore It seems very obvious that common testing methods and harmonized certification requirements will have a positive effect on industry and consumer It was in this context that an effort was made in communicating with Standardization bodies worldwide for adoption the of a common worldwide testing methods for solar collectors defined in the standard EN ISO 9806 Oct 2013 with creation of Global Solar Certification Network for solar thermal products So as a first major step in this direction Global Solar Certification Network was formally established on 26 3 2014 The board members were elected from Industry certification body and test laboratory representing Asia Europe and North America Since then a number of meetings have been held in Europe and Asia discussing important relevant topics such like certification scheme rules procedures and requirements for global solar collector certification and establishment of organized infrastructure with specific working groups etc A short presentation about planed future activities the current status and the latest developments related to global certification and especially the Global Solar Certification Network was given by Jan Erik Nielsen at the recently held meeting in Paris on Oct 07 2015 More information on Global Solar Certification is available at www gsc nw org Voluntary collector energy output label SOLERGY Industry initiative pushed the issue of the collector label forward Status of the collector output label SOLERGY gives solar thermal technology more strength in the context with the EU labelling scheme supports its goals of reducing primary energy use and not the least promotes the Solar Keymark Guideline on the establishment of the voluntary output Label SOLERGY for solar thermal collectors in accordance with the delegated regulations EU no 811 2013 and 812 2013 Version 23 09 15 were also presented So in brief The main objective of this initiative is to provide a clear and transparent declaration of the annual efficiency and specific energy output for different temperature levels and application of solar thermal collectors available in the market as well as to show the potential energy output of the collector module for 3 different reference locations thus enabling the end users to make an informed choice suited to their particular needs Additionally it is aimed to complement the already existing EU labelling system for space heaters water heaters and
