    age of 5 after his mother s death when he was 17 he started distilling grappa with his sister Lidia s help That would be his job for the rest of his life My father died in 1933 and it is as if I never knew him I was 5 and my lungs had barely had time to discover the scent of grappa and my eyes had not seen but a few carriages crossing our courtyard yet The alembic was the heritage that my father left us When he died the distillery passed to my mother who was killed during a bomb attack soon afterwards I was 17 and I had to start running the business myself When I started I thought this will just be a temporary job for me TASTEVIN between art and wine From May 2015 to January 2016 at the Corkscrew Museum EXTENDED TO 1 MAY 2016 The temporary exhibition Tastevin between art and wine will be at the Corkscrew Museum in Barolo until January 2016 thanks to the cooperation with Artrust art society based in Melano Switzerland On the occasion of Expo 2015 with its focus on food and wine we dedicate an exhibition to this small cup that the wine tasters used to analyse wine in the past before the wine glass was invented The tastevin on display about 100 are different in terms of size materials and decorations and have become precious antique objects of art The entrance to the exhibitions is included in the admission fee of the Corkscrew Museum NEWSLETTER BAROLO NEWS If you want to be updated about all the events in Langhe and Roero area send an email with no text to news subscribe museodeicavatappi it CONTACTS info museodeicavatappi it 39 0173 56 05 39 OPENING HOURS morning 10
